April 2023

SUMMARY

March was an intense month of progress for the Cornucopias team, as we are hurtling towards the release of the Racing Game. This release will be a huge milestone for the brand - in addition to providing the first publicly playable intro to Cornucopias, it represents a microcosm of the full Metaverse.

Players will get their first taste of Dome environments, Bubblejetts, Cornucopias NPCs and more. The amount of amazing design and development the team has poured into these projects has been incredible, and we can’t wait to share their work with you.


BUSINESS

  • Prepping backend systems for the Racing Game launch, including NFT-based testing access and upcoming NFT sales.
  • Exploring the use of AI for both coding efficiency and potential in-game NPC conversations.
  • No new hires this month, with all focus directed towards Racing Game delivery.
  • Team wellness prioritized via access to Headspace for meditation & mindfulness.

Most art resources remain focused on the Racing Game, but progress continues on Solace environments. Once Racing launches, the team will pivot back to Solace and Custom Domes.


RACING GAME / RACING LEAGUE

  • Multiplayer hosting & wallet/NFT integration resolved - Testing roles assigned via Player Profile NFTs.
  • Internal multiplayer testing already underway with custom Bubblejetts.
  • Lobby systems in development for vehicle, gear & track selection.
  • First gameplay footage expected next month - Rob vs Josh race-off coming soon!

WEB

  • Player Profiles updated with NFT & Discord integration for Beta access delegation.
  • Completed sign-up wizard for account creation & external asset linking.

LAUNCHER

  • Final touches to Launcher UI, News & FAQ sections, and profile APIs.
  • Bug/error feedback portal nearly complete, enabling rapid dev fixes during testing.

Focus in the coming weeks is on rolling out the Racing Game alpha release. Production of COPICafe has slowed slightly, with only one new episode recently - but Episode 50 promises something special.
